Rep. Ilhan Omar’s sister incorporated her consulting company at the same Minnesota address tied to figures in the massive Feeding Our Future fraud scheme.
Quick Take
- Sahra Noor’s firm, Grit Partners Consulting, was registered at a Lakeville, Minnesota home linked to Feeding Our Future figures.
- Grit Partners says it helped secure more than $20 million in health funding tied to USAID, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other groups.
- A Minnesota House committee sought records and testimony about possible connections between Omar’s office and the fraud case.
- No prosecutor has charged Noor or Grit Partners, and reporters say the address link alone does not prove wrongdoing.
- Democrats on the committee blocked a subpoena for Omar’s records by a single vote.
Shared Address Raises Red Flags
Grit Partners Consulting, the firm run by Sahra Noor, sister of Rep. Ilhan Omar, was reportedly incorporated at 17626 Hyacinth Way in Lakeville, Minnesota. That same residential address appeared in public records tied to people connected to the Feeding Our Future fraud operation, according to reporting from The Daily Wire. Reports named Mashah Ahmed Ali and Ister Ahmed Afraa as linked to the property, along with several companies registered there.
Feeding Our Future was the largest pandemic relief fraud scheme ever charged in the United States. Federal prosecutors say the scam siphoned roughly $250 million meant to feed hungry children during COVID-19. More than 90 people have faced charges, and some defendants already sit in prison for stealing millions meant for kids’ meals.
What Grit Partners Actually Claims
Noor’s company publicly states it has “secured more than $20 million in funding for health initiatives” and consulted on projects backed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Bank. One published account describes Grit Partners supporting a USAID-funded peer-learning project in Kenya involving 45 partner organizations. That detail suggests real overseas health consulting work, separate from domestic child-nutrition programs.
Feeding Our Future, by contrast, drew its money from federal child-nutrition programs run through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Minnesota’s education agency, not USAID. That distinction matters. A shared home address is suspicious, but it does not automatically mean Noor’s international health work and the Minnesota meal-fraud scheme touched the same dollars.
Lawmakers Demand Answers, Democrats Block Subpoena
The Minnesota House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee invited testimony and sought communications involving Omar, a former staffer named Guhaad Hashi Said, Safari Restaurant personnel, and Feeding Our Future defendants. Republicans pushed for a subpoena to force the release of records connected to Omar’s office. Democrats on the committee blocked that effort by a single vote, leaving key questions unanswered for now.
That failed vote does not prove a cover-up. It does mean taxpayers still don’t have the full picture. When oversight committees get blocked from obtaining basic records, voters are left wondering what lawmakers don’t want them to see. A legitimate business with nothing to hide should welcome transparency, not resist it.
No Charges Filed Against Noor, Reporters Note
Multiple outlets covering this story, including those that first broke it, say plainly that neither Noor nor Grit Partners has been charged or accused by prosecutors in the Feeding Our Future case. The evidence so far shows an address connection and overlapping business filings. It does not show a criminal case number, an indictment, or a sworn finding naming Noor as a participant in the scheme.
It is absolutely true. And her sister too: Ilhan Omar’s sister is linked to address tied to Minnesota’s $250 million Feeding Our Future fraud.

Still, conservatives have every reason to demand full transparency. A congresswoman’s sister sharing an address with fraud figures, running a company that touts over $20 million in government-linked funding, deserves hard questions. Taxpayers footed the bill for the largest pandemic fraud scheme in American history. They deserve complete answers, not partisan stonewalling in a state legislative committee.
