Former Vice President Kamala Harris confirmed Friday she is seriously considering a third presidential campaign in 2028, marking her strongest public statement yet about returning to the national political stage.
Direct Confirmation at National Action Network
During a conversation with Rev. Al Sharpton at the National Action Network conference in New York City, Harris responded directly when asked if she would run for president in 2028. “Listen, I might,” Harris said. “I’m thinking about it.” The crowd erupted with chants of “run again” as she spoke. Harris received some of the loudest cheers among potential 2028 Democratic contenders at the conference, outpacing Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, and Senator Ruben Gallego of Arizona.
Experience and Vision for Change
Harris emphasized her qualifications, noting she served four years “being a heartbeat away from the presidency.” She said the status quo has failed many Americans for too long. “Part of the issue is the need to get rid of some of the bureaucracy in government,” Harris stated, adding that people want progress, not process. She stressed any presidential candidate must focus on serving the American people rather than personal ambition. Harris said she is evaluating where she can best serve the country and promised to keep supporters updated on her decision.
Sharp Criticism of Current Administration
Harris used the platform to deliver pointed criticism of President Donald Trump, particularly regarding foreign policy. She challenged Trump’s claims about eliminating Iran’s nuclear capabilities, calling his assertions false. Harris argued Trump chose a war with Iran that has resulted in American casualties, strained longtime alliances, and increased domestic costs for citizens. “The American citizens will always pay for war,” she said. Harris also accused the president of lying about reducing prices and costs for Americans from day one of his administration.
Political Background and Path Forward
Harris lost the 2024 presidential election to Trump after becoming the Democratic nominee when President Joe Biden withdrew under party pressure. In 2020, she ended her own presidential campaign before the primary calendar began, later joining Biden’s ticket as vice president. Her Friday comments represent the clearest indication yet that she remains politically active and considering another White House bid. The White House did not respond to requests for comment on Harris’s remarks about the administration’s policies and Trump’s leadership.

She should run.
Yeah, that’s just what this country needs…..LOL!!!!!
