School officials in Frisco, Texas, are refusing to release video footage of a fatal stabbing incident involving two high school students, sparking outrage in the community. The decision to withhold surveillance video showing 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony allegedly stabbing football player Austin Metcalf during a track meet has left many demanding transparency while the victim’s family grieves a devastating loss.
Fatal Confrontation During Rain Delay
The confrontation between Anthony and Metcalf allegedly began when Metcalf told Anthony to move out of the Memorial team’s tent during the weather delay. Witnesses report that Anthony reached into his bag and warned Metcalf not to touch him, escalating the situation that would soon turn deadly.
Karmelo Anthony is not a hero.
His family LIED about having financial problems to get a lower bond and then (allegedly) BOUGHT A HOUSE…
Why are they treating this kid like a celebrity?!?

When Metcalf attempted to push Anthony out of the tent, Anthony allegedly pulled a knife from his bag and stabbed Metcalf in the chest. The 17-year-old football player tragically died at the scene while being held by his twin brother Hunter, who later described the horrific moment he watched his brother’s life slip away.
Legal Proceedings and Contradicting Claims
Anthony was immediately arrested at the scene and now faces murder charges, though his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000. The terms of his release include house arrest and an ankle monitor while he awaits trial for the fatal stabbing that prosecutors suggest was premeditated based on Anthony’s alleged taunting of Metcalf before the attack.

The Anthony family has vehemently denied all charges and claims the current narrative surrounding the incident is false. “The narrative being spread is false, unjust, and harmful,” the Anthony family stated, insisting their son acted in self-defense during the altercation that turned fatal.
Community Demands Video Release
Frisco Independent School District officials confirmed they possess surveillance video of the entire incident but continue to withhold it from public view. Their refusal to release the footage has generated significant controversy, with many community members questioning why such critical evidence isn’t being shared with the public when it could clarify exactly what happened during the deadly confrontation.

“I whipped my head around, and then all of a sudden I see him running down the bleachers just grabbing his chest… I put my hand on there, tried to make [the bleeding] stop, and I grabbed his head and I looked in his eyes. I just saw his soul leave, and it took my soul, too,” Hunter Metcalf said about watching his twin brother die in his arms.
Prosecutors maintain they have compelling evidence against Anthony, including the surveillance video and multiple eyewitness accounts identifying him as the killer. The case has deeply divided the Frisco community, with supporters on both sides waiting for more evidence to come to light while the school district continues its controversial stance of withholding the video that could potentially provide clarity about the tragic death of a young student athlete.
